Last week Niki attended The Halton Send Employment Forum at the Stadium – the days events included hearing about and from some of the 12 young SEND adults who have been part of this years Internship programme which has had fantastic success. The programme focuses on the young person’s interests and includes 1 day a week of study at Kingsway and 4 days with an employer- the goal being to get paid work. Young adults from Ashley School and Cavendish came to talk about their experiences on the day and they were inspiring in their enthusiasm and what they have achieved
– some have trained in food safety and hygiene and others have been on training for their lifeguard certificates with subsequent jobs offered at Co-op, Halton libraries and Halton leisure centre to some of the interns
If you have a young person with SEND aged 18-24 and want to find out more why not attend the open event 🔵Wednesday 25th March 3-5pm
